Rename the video
When a video is uploaded, it starts with the filename you used. Rename it to something clearer for your team or project, such as a customer video, product demo, or page-specific asset.
The original filename is still stored in the video metadata, so renaming the video does not remove the upload history.
Review metadata and description
The video detail page shows practical metadata such as file size, duration, and the original filename. Once the video has viewers, the statistics section starts filling with playback data.
If the video contains speech, SimpleVideo can generate a description, transcript, and subtitles. You can still write your own description. Once you save your own text, SimpleVideo keeps it instead of replacing it with generated copy.
Match the player to your website
Use the Player tab to adjust how the embed looks and behaves. The colour setting changes the player controls, so you can match the video player to your website or brand.
Autoplay can start the video automatically when someone visits the page. Browsers usually require autoplay videos to be muted, so SimpleVideo keeps those settings aligned.
Choose the right embed snippet
The Embed tab gives you the snippet to add to your website builder. Use the recommended snippet for most sites.
If an older website builder has trouble with the recommended embed, try the alternative snippet from the same tab.
Set up sharing, thumbnails, and subtitles
The Sharing tab creates a simple link when you want to send a video to a customer, client, or colleague before embedding it on a website.
The Thumbnail tab lets you keep the automatically selected thumbnail, pick a frame from the video, or upload a custom title card.
Subtitles are generated automatically when speech is available. Review the subtitle section when you want to check the generated tracks.
Delete carefully
The Danger section deletes the video. Deleted videos stop working in embeds and public sharing pages, then are removed from SimpleVideo systems after the retention period.
